First Class of the New Year for Our Jr. Artists

Once Upon An Art Class 
TUESDAYS 3:30-4:30
7 meetings; Feb. 5 - Mar. 19
Ages 4-9

This class will offer fun arts and crafts projects inspired by popular children’s books. Each class will begin with the reading of a picture book and some discussion of the story and illustrations. Students will then create an art project based on the story and basic art concepts. A variety of materials will be used used and activities will include printmaking, collage, drawing, and painting.

Early Bird Rate by January 25: $55.00/student; $35.00/sibling
Class Fee after January 31: $65.00/student; $45.00/sibling
Class Size Limit: 10

Students Explore the Art of Linoleum Block Printing

Over the past five weeks, this small but focused group of teens learned a little about the art of printmaking.  We observed and discussed several different types of prints from centuries past as well as contemporary work.  But, mostly, they spent time carving and printing linocuts of their own.

This type of printmaking is easy to do at home - no press needed.  Hopefully, students will be able continue to explore this medium on their own.  But, I will definitely offer this class again.
